If you missed our Online Neurodiversity in Travel Summit, which we ran in partnership with BCD Travel, this is the chance to watch recordings and access extra resources on the topic. It is broken down into separate videos and sections. The Summit provides valuable insights and practical takeaways that you can implement in your workplace, with your customers and leadership, as it features a range of expert travel industry speakers and case studies from outside the industry.

🔎 Did you know that roughly 1 in 7 of us are neurodivergent, that means a flabbergasting 13M people in the UK alone?

⚡ How inclusive is your workplace for neurodivergent colleagues?

❓ What are the needs of neurodivergent travellers and customers and what can your business do to address them?

According to recent research in the UK, 15-20% of the population is neurodivergent, meaning they have learning, communicating and thinking styles that differ from what’s considered neuro-typical. This equates to 13 million people, including 700,000 people with autism spectrum condition and two million people with dyslexia.

Research by Forbes also suggests that more than a third (35%) of entrepreneurs are neurodivergent, which is far above the percentage of people in corporate environments and is often connected to above-average creativity and innovation traits.

With this in mind, and in the context of a workplace that is constantly evolving due to technological and socio-economic change:

  • 🌍 How can the travel, tourism, and hospitality sectors tap into neurodivergent talent and consumer bases?
  • 🔁 What adaptations can the sector make to integrate the needs of neurodivergent staff, suppliers, and partners for a more inclusive environment?
  • 🎯 How can providers attract and retain consumers by catering to the unique requirements of the neurodivergent community?
